Join together in the spirit of recovery with nine other cities across Canada as we celebrate the Okanagans first annual recovery rally here in kelowna.  Joining will be individuals, in recovery, family friends and loved ones, treatment centres, and recovery groups.

Kelownas Mayor Walter Gray, will be giving a proclamation officially declaring September 8th, 2013 as Recovery day for the city of Kelowna .  Other speakers will also take turns spreading hope, and encouragement. There will be live music, exhibitor booths, and a recovery march.

Last year Vancouver hosted their first Recovery day and had over 1000 attendees. Kelowna, lets spread the word as wel are looking forward to having a huge crowd in Stuart park.

Create banners, signs and clothing to express yourself, and how recovery works. For example: Yeah I got my one year Chip!, Haven’t used since 2009, Recovery Works, etc.

Celebrate Recovery is a successful Christ based recovery program, based upon 8 Recovery steps, found in Alcoholics Anonymous.  The program was created to help individuals deal with habits, hurts, and hangups.  It focuses on recovery from addictions as well as mental health disorders and help for the abused. 

This program was first launched over 25 years ago, by John Baker and Rick Warren.  It can be found in many cities across Canada and the US, and now Kelowna Christian Centre will also be hosting this weekly recovery meeting, here in Kelowna, beginning later this fall.
